CONTENT STRATEGY AND CREATION CASE STUDY
Introduction
A major Australian superannuation provider had invested heavily in corporate content to support member engagement and brand positioning. However, much of this content was not performing effectively in organic search, limiting its reach and impact. The organisation’s in-house teams were unfamiliar with how content strategy intersects with search visibility, and there was little understanding of the long-term value that SEO could provide.
The challenge was to align the client’s existing content investment with a sustainable SEO strategy, without discarding work that had already been completed or compromising the organisation’s corporate tone and objectives.
Actions Taken
Belmore Digital, led by JB, was engaged to provide strategic SEO consultancy with a focus on maximising the performance of existing content and embedding search visibility into future planning.
Key actions included:
-
Stakeholder Education & Strategy Alignment: JB conducted a series of strategic presentations and workshops with internal stakeholders, focusing on how Search operates, the role of content in discoverability, and the incremental value SEO could deliver. This helped build buy-in at multiple levels of the organisation.
-
Content Performance Audit: Existing content assets were reviewed for their search visibility, alignment with user intent, and technical optimisation. JB identified underperforming assets and developed clear, actionable recommendations to improve their relevance and discoverability.
-
Search-First Content Framework: A structured framework was introduced to guide future content production, incorporating keyword research, user journey mapping, metadata best practices, and internal linking standards—all tailored to the superannuation industry and the client’s brand.
-
Long-Term SEO Integration: JB worked with the client to embed SEO considerations into their broader content governance model, ensuring that Search would be considered from the outset rather than retrofitted after publication.

Outcome
While change required time and sustained effort, the client saw significant improvements in the performance of existing content and greater visibility across priority search terms. More importantly, the organisation developed an internal understanding of SEO as a value-generating function—leading to better use of existing resources and a clear roadmap for continued success in organic search.
The engagement ensured that content investments delivered ongoing returns and positioned the client for long-term visibility throughout the user journey.
