Most websites we look at are not badly designed. They are just not built with conversion in mind. The gap between a site that looks good and one that reliably generates enquiries is usually a handful of specific, fixable things.
Fix 1 – Rewrite Your Value Proposition
The first line of your homepage is the most important copy on your entire site. If it is vague, self-referential, or generic, most visitors will leave before reading anything else. A strong value proposition answers three things: what you do, who you do it for, and what it gets them.

Fix 2 – Move Your Social Proof Above the Fold
Google reviews, client logos, and specific results are what convert hesitant visitors into confident enquiries. Most websites bury this at the bottom. Trust signals need to be visible without scrolling.

Fix 3 – Cut Your CTAs Down to One
When every option is equally prominent, none feel urgent. The more choices you give a visitor, the harder the decision – and the more likely they are to delay it entirely. Pick the single most valuable action and make everything on the page point toward it.

Fix 4 – Audit the Mobile Experience
Responsive design does not automatically mean a good mobile experience. Hard-to-tap buttons, small text, navigation that is difficult to use with a thumb – all create friction. More than half your visitors are on a phone. If it is not smooth, they will not fight through it.
Fix 5 – Give People a Reason to Act Today
Most websites are passive – they lay out information and wait. Without a specific reason to reach out now rather than later, most visitors leave with good intentions that never become enquiries.
